Exit the M6 Motorway
via Junction 36 (South Lakes turn-off) and follow the main
A591 Road to Windermere through to Ambleside (l8 miles). When
you pass the Ambleside YHA, turn left at the traffic lights
immediately after and follow that road right into Ambleside
town centre. When you see the spired church on your left, move
into the right hand lane and turn right at the crossroads by
the coffee shop on the corner. Continue up the road, turning
left at the top of the car park opposite the library. Turn
left at the next junction and Norwood House there on the right
hand side.
Approaching Ambleside from the North:-

via Junction 40 at Penrith. Follow signs for Keswick and on
to Ambleside. On entering the town centre past the Bridge House
on your right, continue through the town passing Barclays Bank
on the corner on your left, the post office on your right,
followed by the Royal Oak Pub. Turn right here (Church Street),
continue to the bottom of the road where you will find The
Norwood on the right hand side.
